Our trip to Vancouver, Canada, was guided by Sonny, who met us at the airport with a clear multi-day itinerary and handled all logistics.
Day one focused on the city. We explored local neighborhoods, hidden gems, and Granville Island, visiting artisan shops and food markets and trying the famous clam chowder pot pie with a Granville Island Wheat Ale “FUGLY.” Sonny also introduced us to street performers, local artists, and shared insight into urban wildlife.
The following days took place in a secluded wilderness bushcraft location Sonny had prepared in advance. We learned primitive skills using bamboo for shelter building and water purification—new materials for us despite being survival instructors. Highlights included backcountry hiking, fire-making on a snow-covered mountain, wild birds landing on our hands, and cooking meals over an open campfire. All equipment was provided.
